Team Wisconsin earned its spot in the championship game by edging host team Pittsburgh 4-3 Sunday night in America's Showcase.

TW took the lead late in the first period on Nico Aguilar's unassisted goal with just under four minutes left in the period, and that's how the session would end.

Pittsburgh scored twice in a 49-second span early in the middle period to take a 2-1 lead, which would last for nine minutes.

Eric Swenson tied the game at the 12:03 mark with help from Jake Berry and Eric Schoneman, and then Aaron Maas put TW ahead for good, scoring all by himself 18 seconds later.

Maas stretched the lead to 4-2 three minutes into the final period. Aguilar got the assist on the power play goal.

Pittsburgh scored midway through the period but that was the final tally in the contest.

Pittsburgh outshot TW 43-23, with Alex Jones stopping 40 of those shots for the win.
