Team 'Orange' gives Chicago squad the blues

All four teams win, with three advancing to playoffs

TIER II U16 BOYS
The Milwaukee area WEHL squad, 'Team Orange' got outshot 53-20 but got 51 saves from Caleb Sauer in a 3-2 win over the Chicago Blues.

Jaxson Carr scored in the first period to make it 1-1 going into the first break. The Blues scored early in the second to take the 2-1 lead, but Cody Kast tallied four minutes later to tie it and that score would carry into period three.

Four minutes into the final period, Jacob Carfagna scored the game-winner on an assist from Sauer.

The team ended with the third seed in 'A' pool and will not advance to the playoff round.

TIER I U14 GIRLS
Alyssa Heim scored on a shootout goal after regulation plus overtime yielded no scoring in a 1-0 TW U14 win over North Dakota Saturday in pool play.

Gwen Parker stopped all five shots in the shootout in addition to 14 saves in the game. TW held a 39-14 shot advantage in the contest.

TW, the #1 seed in Pool A, will take on the Bay State Breakers Sunday morning at 8:00am in the quarterfinal round.

TIER I U16 BOYS
TW U16 got goals from five different players in a 5-0 decision over the San Jose Jr. Sharks Saturday.

Ian Malcolmson, Aaron Grounds, Chase Blackmun, Jordan Steinmetz, and Brock Caufield got on the socreboard in the easy shutout win.

Ryan Kenny stopped all 17 shots for the win.

Although it hasn't been posted on the USA Hockey website, TW should face the Colorado Thunderbirds in quarterfinal round action Sunday morning at 8:00am.

TIER I U16 GIRLS
The Madison Capitols scored an easy 9-3 victory over the New Jersey Colonials Saturday to advance to quarterfinal play.

The Caps got two goals each from Brittyn Fleming, Maddie Posick, and Coryn Tormala. Hailey Redders scored once and added a playmaker; Taytum Geier had a goal and two helpers, and Laken Anderson also tallied a goal. Fleming had a playmaker and Posick notched two assists in the game.

Sara Glawe had 15 saves in the game for the Caps.

The Capitols will take on Minnesota Elite Sky at 10:20am Sunday in quarterfinal round play.
