With the temperature in the mid-20s and a bright sun in the eastern sky, thus opened the first full day of the third annual Mad City Pond Hockey championships at Esser Pond in Middleton.

Teams played games on Friday as well, beginning at 1pm and running until 10pm.

The tournament has 69 teams competing for titles in nine divisions on twelve rinks on Esser Pond.

Play runs from 8am-10pm on Saturday, and 8am-1pm on Sunday.

There is a food and drink tent, and apparel will also be sold, along with raffles for several NHL jerseys.

Temps are expected to be in the low 30s for the high on Saturday and Sunday, so stop on down and watch a fun tournament.
