The first Wisconsin high school girls’ hockey junior-senior festival will be held in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin March 19-20, 2016.

Each of the four WIAA sectionals will select a team consisting of 2 goalies, 6 defenders and 9 forwards following tryouts scheduled for March 7-8.

There is no fee to tryout. But, interested players are asked to pre-register by e-mailing Mike Cowan at mgcowan96@gmail.com. Players should include the following: player’s name, position, graduation year, current team and current school and e-mail address.

Once selected, teams will practice once or twice prior to the tournament and compete in the round robin tournament. The cost to participate in the tournament is $75 which pays for the jerseys and socks that the player will keep, ice time and officials.

In addition, the tournament will be used to help select Team Wisconsin and the Central District Showcase team.

Team Wisconsin will participate in the NIT in Plymouth, Minnesota April 21-24, 2016.  More information on this opportunity will be forthcoming. Questions should be directed to Dave Witting at coachwitts@earthlink.net or Mike Sullivan at msullivan50@wi.rr.com.

The Central District team will compete in the America’s Showcase tournament in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania April 14-18, 2016. More information on this event will also be forthcoming. Questions should be directed to Mike Cowan at mgcowan96@gmail.com.
