Fusion defender had four scholarship offers

Last summer, St. Croix Valley Fusion senior defender Maddie Rowe was making college visits, looking to pick a hockey home for the next four years.

She trekked to six schools and got scholarship offers from four of them.

In November, she signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Wisconsin, and just like that, Rowe became a Badger.

At this time, Rowe is uncertain of her major but she moves on campus in June and begins classes and training a day later.

"I am so excited to become a Badger," said Rowe. "Madison is a great school with a fantastic hockey program and on top of that, it is such an honor to have the opportunity to play D1 hockey in my home state."

Rowe becomes the third Wisconsin four-year high school player in the last three years to play Division 1: Theresa Knutson is a sophomore at the University of Connecticut and Jacyn Reeves is a freshman at Union College. Both girls played their HS hockey at Onalaska.
