Next week, the Waupun Warriors travel 18 miles up Hwy 151 to Fond du Lac to battle the Fond du Lac Cardinals for the fifth annual Cowan Cup on Tuesday, December 1.

The trophy is named for Wisconsin hockey legend Mike Cowan, who has ties to both eastern Wisconsin cities.

Cowan coached the Waupun boys team for 20 years and also coached at Fond du Lac Springs. 

He, along with Wes Bolin, began the Fondy/Waupun girls team and coached there for eight years, winning two state titles.
