Seniors edge juniors in third-place game

In a battle for Wisconsin bragging rights, the Seniors showed the Juniors (HP-18) who was boss, but they had to go to an extra period to get a hard-fought 4-3 win in the CCM NIT third-place game Sunday morning at Plymouth Ice Arena.

The Juniors scored first on a goal by Chevy Ford, with an assist to Kobe Keller.

The Seniors tied the game when Logan Froberg put the puck in the net. He was assisted by Wyatt Dove and Andrew Lee.

(No times were listed for the regulation period goals.)

Dylan Ross gave the Juniors a 2-1 lead on an unassisted goal, and that's how the period would end. Shots were 16-9 in favor of the Seniors in the period.

Jacob Cox scored to tie the game for the Seniors in the middle period, with an assist to Martin Suda.

The Juniors re-took the lead in the see-saw game with Justin Kendall's goal, helped by Trenton Bliss. Shots were 11-10 in favor of the Juniors in the period.

Caleb Blank tied the game in the third for the Seniors. He was assisted by Cole Paskus and Conner Blanck.

The period ended with the 3-3 score, with the Seniors holding a 14-10 shot edge in the third.

It took just 75 seconds in the extra period for the game to be decided, and Ty Pelton-Byce earned the game-winner with help from Collin Appleton. Shots were 2-1 in favor of the Seniors, who also led the game tally (42-31).

Max McConnell got the win for the Seniors, stopping 28 shots. Dylan Phinney took the loss, albeit playing quite well, with his 38 saves.
