1-0 game-winner scored with 1:33 left in contest

Although they out-shot their foes by a margin of 2-1, Team Wisconsin HP-18 was able to put only one puck in the net, but that was enough in their 1-0 win over the Michigan HP-18s Saturday morning in the CCM NIT at Plymouth Ice Arena.

The first two periods were scoreless, even though WI held 14-3 and 13-9 shot advantages in the first two periods, respectively.

It looked like the game was going to overtime until Jacob Thousand scored with 1:33 left in the period. He was assisted by Justin Kendall and Trenton Bliss on the game-winner.

Shots in the final period were 18-11 TW, and the game tally was 45-23.

Walker Smith earned the shutout for TW with his 23 saves. Michigan goalie Cullen Barber was much busier, stopping 44 of 45 in the tough-luck loss.
