Boys NIT: Team WI HP-18 crush Massachusetts

Bliss and Andringa each score a pair in easy win

Team Wisconsin High Performance 18s scored four times in each of the first two periods on their way to a 10-1 romp over Massachusetts Thursday evening in the CCM NIT tournament in Plymouth, MN.

(The High Performance 18 team consists of high school juniors.)

Jack Andringa (Madison Memorial), Chevy Ford (Waunakee), Justin Kendall (Aquinas), and Tyler Ebner (Onalaska) each scored in the first period for the 4-0 lead. Shots were 12-5 in favor of TW.

Chase Davidson (Menomonie) scored early in the period to make it 5-0 before Trevor Kaplan scored for Mass to make it 5-1.

Andringa, Trenton Bliss (Appleton United), and Mathew Fall (Hudson) scored to give TW an 8-1 lead as the second period ended. Shots were 12-8 in favor of TW in the period.

Steven Mordini (Baraboo/Portage) and Bliss scored in the final period to make it 10-1 in favor of the good guys. TW held a huge 17-6 shot edge in the period.

Walker Smith (Waupaca) had 18 saves for TW, while Andrew Slack (9) and Jacob Dittmer (22) combined for 31 Massachusetts saves.

In addition, Kobe Keller (SPASH) had three assists, as did Bliss, while Michael Alfaro (Appleton United), Andringa and Jett Jaraczewski (Notre Dame) each had a pair of helpers.
