TW drops 3-0 game to Omaha AAA in quarterfinals

Update:
Team Wisconsin U16 saw their season come to an end with a 3-0 loss to Omaha AAA Sunday morning in the USA Hockey Nationals in Amherst, NY.

===========================================================================

While the TW girls teams played in their own 'backyard' with automatic bids as the host team, the Team Wisconsin U16 boys had a tougher road to travel.

The U16s traveled east to Amherst, NY to compete in the USA Hockey Nationals.

And thus far, they have repped Wisconsin well.

In opening round action on Thursday, TW lost a close game in a shootout, 2-1 to the Cape Cod Whalers. Davis Bunz scored the goal for TW, while goalie Tommy Mohs stopped 20 of 21 shots.

In game two on Friday, TW whipped the Carolina Junior Hurricanes 4-1. Mick Messner and Trenton Bliss each had a goal and an assist, while Grant Reichenbacher and Kobe Keller each scored in the victory. Nathan Cleghorn had 17 saves in the game for TW.

The TW U16 boys didn't win on Saturday, but they didn't lose, either. Well, not really.

The U16s battled into another shootout Saturday, this time against the Colorado Thunderbirds before bowing 2-1.

Grant Reichenbacher scored the lone tally for TW. Tommy Mohs stopped 15 shots in the game for TW.
