We’re trying to make things easier for you

We always welcome and encourage reader feedback to Wisconsin Prep Hockey and as a result of that feedback we make changes to the direction and editorial policies of the site. We are implementing one of those changes today.

In an effort to make the source (author) of posts on Wisconsin Prep Hockey easier, in addition to the name of the author, we will also be including a source designation for those authors.

What does that mean exactly?

That means that when Trasher posts an article it will no longer say “By Michael Trzinski” but will instead say “By Michael Trzinski, WiPH Staff.”

If this looks familiar to you, it is because this is always how we have posted “Around the State” articles, that link to content from other news providers around the state.

You’ll see three main types of bylines on Wisconsin Prep Hockey now:

  • Name, WiPH Staff – for Wisconsin Prep Hockey staff members.
    • Example: Del Scanlon, WiPH Staff
  • Name, Newspaper – For Around the State articles, and snippets linking to other news sources.
    • Example: Scott Williams, Stevens Point Journal
  • Name, Team Coach/Manager – For posts written by coaches or team page managers
    • Example: Tom Geilfuss, USM Coach

Now, you should be able to tell at a glance who wrote the article you are reading, and what their affiliation is. We have always accepted third party posts, and will continue to do so, but we believe this will help highlight those posts for you.
