Seniors go 3-1 with day 4 win over Wisconsin U18

It was a game that no one wanted to see happen...... but it did.

The Team Wisconsin Seniors matched up against their own TW U18 in day 4 action at the Minnesota Showcase. A very....well interesting........ matchup saw the Seniors post a 3-1 win over the younger TW boys.
The Seniors started off the scoring with 4:55 left in the first period. Robby Fosdick found the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. Mason Appleton and Sam Schultz were credited with assists. That score is how the first period ended . Shots were 8-5 for the Seniors.

The second period saw the hitting pick up and the U18 squad pick up a goal in the period when Mitchell Gerharz finished off a power play with a goal to bring the game even at 1 thru two periods. The TW U18 held a 9-6 shot advantage in the period.

With the third period being close it was the Seniors who scored the game winner. Aaron Miller scored on the power play about halfway thru the period scoring short side on U18 goalie Tony Rehm, who bounced back from a tough start on Friday to be solid in this game. The U18 squad really worked hard to get the game tied but Seniors goalie Jacob Stephan played well down the stretch and finally to close it out Mason Appleton scored on an empty net for the 3-1 final. In the game U18 goalie Tony Rehm made 22 saves and Jacob Stephan stopped 21 in the win.
