The team Wisconsin Seniors knew going into tonights game against North Dakota that this game was gonna be much different.
After rolling over Michigan U18 Thursday night 13-1, the boys knew this was gonna be closer.
Wisconsin battled from trailing 3-2 in the early third period to claim a 6-3 win at the Minnesota CCM/NIT Tournament.
Wisconsin was tested on special teams early and was able to get outta the first period scoreless holding off ND on three power plays.
Wisconsin broke thru when Jake Bresser got loose in the mid slot, was fed a pass and wristed it in for the 1-0 lead with 14 minutes left in the second period. Bresser got his second when the wrist shot he cranked up found its way to the net with 2:23 left in the second.
Then the TW squad got in penalty trouble. With less than a minute left in the period Dman Chuck Bennis was called for a 5 minute kneeing major, and  Ryan Mezera was called for a tripping penalty. NoDak had a chance to cut into the lead and got their first goal with under a second left to trail 2-1 on a pileup in front and the puck tapped in by Casey Johnson. to end the second period.
The third period had TW on the penalty kill. With 4:04 left on Bennis' major penalty NoDak was able to score at 16:33 left to tie the game at 2.
TW was put on the PK immediately when the major call was over and NoDak used that power play to get the lead on a stick side low shot by James Schock for their 3-2 lead.

But TW answered. With 10:33 left the game was tied by TW forward Brett Gruber, and 16 seconds later took the lead again on Caleb Schroer's goal and with exactly 8:00 left they got their two goal lead back when Robby Fosdick got a goal with Charlie Parker assisting.
NoDak got their goalie pulled, but TW played well down the stretch and an empty net goal by Zach Kennedy finished the scoring at 6-3.
Jacob Stephan played well in net and made 16 saves in the win.

The TW U18 fell for a second time this time a 4-1 loss to Team Michigan. Wisconsin was down 3-0 after 2 periods, but got their lone goal from Jordan Fader on a tip thru traffic. Michigan was able to get an empty netter for the final score.
