Team Wisconsin fought back from a 2-0 deficit and defeated Culver Prep 4-3 in quarterfinal action Saturday in the USA Hockey Nationals at the Cornerstone rink in Ashwaubenon.

Karch Bachman scored in the first period and Nick Curtin tallied about six minutes into the middle period to give the Indiana prep school the two-goal lead. But as Pat McDonald says, 'the two-goal lead is the worst lead in hockey.'

And that turned out to be true as TW clawed back with three goals in about two minutes to take the lead.

Mason Appleton scored twice in just over a minute and Jake Bresser put the puck in the net one minute later to give TW a 3-2 lead. Luke Davison, Michael Wilson, and Jake Miller earned helpers on the three goals.

Curtin scored his second goal just 19 seconds later for Culver to knot the score at three.

With just under a minute left, Aaron Miller scored to give TW the 4-3 win. Zed Dietrich had an assist on the game-winner.

Nathan Siclovan stopped 22 shots in the game for TW. Shots were 42-25 in favor of TW.

The U18 squad will face Victory Honda at 8:00pm in the semifinal round.
