Paskus leads charge with two goals and an assist

Cole Paskus tallied three points and Henry Cutting played an outstanding game in goal as Team Wisconsin U16s breezed past the Buffalo Regals 4-1 in quarterfinal action Saturday morning in the USA Hockey Nationals held at the Cornerstone in Ashwaubenon.

Paskus scored midway through the first with an assist to Steven Mordini to make it 1-0 for the home boys.

Owen Green tied the game for the Regals just over a minute into the second, but it was all TW after that.

Paskus scored with 22 seconds left in the period to give TW a 2-1 lead, with an assist to Kevin Conley.

The game stayed close until the last 1:30 of the third, after which Ty Pelton-Byce and Sam McCormick scored to account for the final tally. Paskus and Tony Stillwell earned helpers on the final goal.

Cutting stopped 30 of 31 shots in the game, which showed TW holding a slight 33-31 edge in shots on goal.

TW will take on the St. Louis Blues tonight at 6pm in one of the semifinal matchups.
