Will be played in Waupun March 22-24

This weekend, 136 players will participate in the 31st annual Senior Class Tournament in Waupun. The three days of hockey that typically end the hockey season have been a fixture in this southeastern Wisconsin city since 1983.

Last season, the 'Northern Ducks' of Section 1 defeated Section 8 by a score of 14-5 to take the championship.

This year, Player of the Year finalists Daniel Tripicchio (Section 1), Steven Phillips (Section 5), Zach Jones (Section 6), Griff Jeszka, Thomas Aiken, and Quinn Disrud (Section 7), and Josh Lemke (Section 2) will participate.

Verona's Jones won the Player of the Year award presented at the state tournament banquet.

Games will be played on Friday (6:30pm and 9:00pm), Saturday (six games beginning at 8:00am and finishing around 10:30pm), and the final round games on Sunday (8:00am, 10:00am, 12:00pm, and 2:30pm championship).

The 9th annual Al Welling Memorial Scholarship will also be awarded during the weekend. Last year, Madison Edgewood's Carl Beglinger was the Welling award winner.

If you come, don't miss the Food and Beverage Tent. For $25, you get a wristband which covers food and drink all weekend in the tent, just outside the Waupun Community Center.
