The Fond du Lac co-op girls hockey team finished a holiday tournament in Green Bay Friday afternoon, going 2-1 in the event. The Warbirds beat Rock County, 3-2, and No. 5 Eau Claire, 5-2, on Thursday before falling to Chippewa Falls, 2-0, on Friday.

In the upset over Eau Claire, Fond du Lac (5-4-1) got two goals from Miranda Zipp and one each from Bracken Overbo, Shelby Zabel and Shannon Jeager. Jeager also had two assists. Taryn Immel had 23 saves in the win.

Taylor Gybers had two of the Warbirds’ three goals against Rock County, while Sami Gibson had the other. Jade Van Buren made 19 saves.

Immel made 16 saves in the loss to Chippewa Falls.

“It was a very good tournament for us,” Warbirds coach Duane Woeshnick said. “We played well today. We just didn’t get the bounces we needed.”
