Molly McKeever notched a hat trick while Haley Hill and Natalie West each scored twice for Appleton United in Tuesday’s 11-0 Eastern Shores girls hockey win over Beaver Dam at the Family Center.
“We don’t have a lot of depth,” BD coach Paul Uttech said. “We’d like to try and adjust our lineup but without that (depth), we don’t have that flexibility to make changes.”
BD (0-7, 0-5 Eastern Shores) hung with United for the first five minutes before Hill notched a pair of goals 29 seconds apart.
The visitors pulled away by capitalizing on a 5-on-3 power play with two goals late in the period.
“I thought the first six or seven minutes, we were pretty good,” Uttech said. “We were disciplined.
“That two-man advantage was tough and they took advantage of it.”
Tori Sager had 40 saves for BD against United (6-3, 3-2).
“We have to help Tori out defensively,” Uttech said.
“It’s a growing experience for the girls right now.”
BD hosts Beloit Memorial on Thursday.
