Marshall Steps Down at Verona

Joel Marshall announced Wednesday he is stepping down after 16 years as the Verona boys hockey coach.

“It was a very tough decision for me, but I don’t want to be a stranger to the program,” he said. “I want to stay involved to help the youth and hockey in the community grow.”

Marshall said his desire to spend more time with his three children, who are getting heavily involved in sports themselves, was the determining factor in his decision. Also, as manager of the Verona Ice Arena, he wants to focus on the facility’s upcoming second ice rink.
